I'm not sure I truly understand this. I'm stupid. Maybe I should just stay at the other site I use for blogging. Except there its an "an online diary." Is that a more pc term for it? I don't know. I just don't get this. I post something here and then I can't find it. I'm such a rube.

I think the word blog has a broader definition than online journal -- the latter implies a very personal kind of thing, whereas a blog could be anything from a personal journal to a political rant to a scholarly collaborative investigation (have you seen my metablog?) to a community meeting space. I think blogs have more flexibility in design, purpose, and access. It all depends on the reasons for which you're doing all of this. If you need the personal self-expression and a semi-closed and safe community, OD makes sense. If you're looking for something else, blogs make sense.
